What is Ayurveda?
Ayurveda is a holistic system of medicine that originated in India over 5,000 years ago. The term "Ayurveda" translates to "The Science of Life" in Sanskrit. It aims to balance the physical, mental, and emotional health of an individual by creating harmony among the three doshas: vata, pitta, and kapha.
My coaching program helps to customize your lifestyle so that it aligns with natural rhythms known as the circadian rhythm. It is critical in disease prevention to live our lives in connection with nature and the cycles of the day and season.
My main goal is to help you learn how to bring balance in your life to prevent disease and to help you relearn or deepen your connection to yourself, food, plants and nature. Coaching includes customized diet plan and daily routine, movement design to help you discover which exercise or body movement fits you best, as well as mindfulness and spiritual tools to support a healthy mind.
Using a holistic lens, we seek to educate and empower health through the use the Gunas (20 Qualities), which are 10 pairs of opposites, to help individuals find daily balance in their life. These pairs of opposite qualities, are used to describe different substances and can be applied to everyday decisions to create balance. These qualities are not only present in our bodies, but also in our environment, our minds, food and drink, and anything else in existence. By understanding these qualities, we can make decisions that promote harmony and equilibrium in our body and mind.
Every person is unique and so is our approach to coaching.
